The summer holidays will soon be here - but are you looking forward to them, or are you dreading them? You are not alone! It’s the same every year, after the initial excitement of breaking up from school, it doesn’t take long before the kids become bored and irritable and parents get stressed-out thinking of yet more things to keep them amused.
If you ask anyone to say what is in a typical English village there's a pretty good chance someone will mention churches. We have thousands of amazing churches, from tiny rural churches to magnificent chatherdrals. The Churches Conservation Trust is the national charity protecting churches at risk, a quick look at their website shows how truly wonderful many of them are. We're working with the Trust to encourage more people to visit churches. Our idea, of course, involves creating walks based at the church but taking in other local attractions so you can have a full day out, or at least a couple of hours of enjoyment.
