| Walk Description: | The Ramblers is proud to be taking a leading role in helping to lift the nation to its feet with a series of events taking place across the country on Walk4Life Day. Join us, and the TV cameras, on Sunday 25th September for Sheffield's Walk4Life Day; a 1 mile walk starting from Firth Park, First Start Building at 11am. Speakers will include Dr Jeremy Wight, Director of Public Health in Sheffield. Bring your family and friends to this FREE event and take those first steps to a healthier lifestyle. Firth Park has recently seen an exciting creative arts project and the walk will take in some of the new art pieces and the brand new pond area. You will also be able to pick up your copy of the new Journeys to Hidden Places map to explore Firth Park even more. Cafe and toilets available in Firth Park. One of 10 flagship televised events across England and Wales taking place today. Walk4Life Day is part of the Department of Health's Change4Life campaign to encourage families and adults to eat well, move more and live longer, by making small lifestyle changes that add up to big health benefits. It aims to show people that walking is a perfect way to start building up the 150 minutes a week of physical activity recommended for adults; almost everyone can do it, anywhere, at any time, and best of all it's free. The Ramblers is proud to be organising a number of events on behalf of the Department of Health. |
