This weekend's Walk London walking weekend was the busiest ever - with thousands of people taking the opportunity to make the most of the winter sunshine to go for a walk. It goes to show just how popular walking is in the Capital - not a place many of us would think of as a walking location. But lots of you do walk in London - Walk London's routes are topping the leader board of 'most popular walks' again this quarter - read on to find out where the rest are.
Walk4Life Leaderboard
We base the leader board on the number of times a walk has been looked at on the website since it was launched in September 2010. As always we split the routes into Walk4LIfe Miles, routes promoted by supporter organisations, and Walk London's routes. We dodn't include routes added to the site by individuals, but if you know of any particularly popular ones please let us know.
Top 5 Supporter routes
The top 5 supporter's routes are unchnaged from last time:
- As usual the ever popular Boudicca Way is topping the charts - this time section 3 Tasburgh to Caistor gets the top slot with 751 views.
- Section 4 Caistor to Norwich is a close second with 746 views.
- Boudicca Way secion 1 remains in 3rd place with 699 views. (Can anyone explain to me why it is not as popular as sections 3 and 4?)
- Boudicca Way section 2 (as above !)
- Furzton Lake longer walk in Milton Keynes.
Below these there is a more activity however with new walks appearing in the charts including :
- Cheddar Reservoir circular - promoted by Oxfordshire County Council, viewed 436 times and appearing n the top 10 for the first time.
- The National Trust's Sideland Tyntesfield Estate Walk - viewed 349 times is new at the top.
- South Lewisham Health Centre appear with their walk.
- As does one of the shortest walks on the site at 0.68 miles long - Denham Country Park walk, promoted by Buckinghamshire County Council, has been viewed 310 times.

Top 7 Walk London Routes
The Walk London routes are still the leaders, benefitting from extra promotion through Walk London, and the fact lots of people live near them ! They rank in order of popularity as below:
- Thames Path. Section 1 has been viewed 16,420 times!
- Capital Ring. Section 1 has been viewed 11,430 times. (congratulations to Jenny who is route manager for both of these routes!)

- LOOP. Section 1 viewed 6,874 times.
- Jubilee Greenway. Section 1 viewed 6,235 times.

- The Lea Valley Walk, oddly the most popular section is section 5, viewed 1,203 times.
I think next quarter I'll have to look at the 'most improved' walks - the ones which have seen most interest in the past 3 months ... let's see if the Boudicca Way still tops the charts! New walks are being added all the time - 5 more have been added while I was writing this Blog! Several of these must be up with the leaders surely...
